UWEX Community Outreach

In an effort to sustain broadband adoption and build community capacity through broadband, the UW-Extension provides educational resources and training opportunities to develop the aptitude and abilities of residents in the communities of Chippewa, Dunn, and Eau Claire counties to become literate with computers and the technologies to connect to the digital world. A state-wide goal of this outreach is to increase internet subscribership and increased broadband use throughout the five demonstration sites by 23,500 through marketing and training efforts. Partnering with the Indianhead Federated Library System, 5 mobile computer labs were created and are being used throughout the 56 libraries and the UW-Extension to bring digital literacy to western Wisconsin. Programs under development are illustrated here.

Check out the training calendar for Chippewa, Dunn, and Eau Claire counties and connect to some great learning resources to build skills and learn technologies required in today’s digital society.
